The factory was founded in 1952 in Vilvoorde, 8 km from Brussels, as a small workshop for the repair and maintenance of electric pumps. In 1959, the production of specialized devices and automation equipment was launched. The company was renamed STERN Armaturen und Maschinen GmbH3.Currently STERN AuM has its own production in Belgium and Austria of high-precision equipment, individual modules and machine parts for the pharmaceutical, petrochemical and food industries,; developing own production of high-quality valves and fittings in China. The plant's products can be used both independently and as parts of more complex equipment of other manufacturers.
Main products are: laboratory equipment for pharmaceuticals, sampling systems and industrial analyzers, reverse systems and installations, equipment for filtering and separating petroleum products, shut-off valves and fittings for the dairy industry.
Shut-off valves make up a relatively small proportion of the total production volume. In 2020 the company launched production in China , Wenzhou city, under strict control from headquarters in Belgium and according European standards and quality requirements. The company is interested in the development of its present at the Russian market. Since 2013, Inoxpoint Group company has been holding the status of an official representative of STERN Armaturen on the territory of the Russian Federation and successfully operates under its brand name, which is gaining more popularity and acknowledgement in Russia.
